A broadcaster in the United Kingdom and Ireland has yet to be decided although JOE understands that Sky Sports Box Office is the leading contender, with ITV Box Office reportedly cooling their interest in carrying the fight.
The whole island of Ireland will be keen to watch McGregor's boxing debut and the bad news for them, as well as the Irishman's fans in the UK, is that Mayweather is pushing for a ridiculous pay-per-view price.
"Mayweather wants the price to be £100," Eddie Hearn told GQ.
Even the most eagerly anticipated fights typically cost viewers less than £25 and the Matchroom boss simply can't see Mayweather getting his wish.
"The price will be within the same realms as it always has. I don’t set the price, but my gut feeling is £19.95," he added.
"If it went to £24.95… I can’t see it, it wouldn’t be my decision. Sky won’t want to go beyond £19.95. That is their price point."Explore more on these topics:
