Taylor was fresh from her first defeat in five years, a semi-final loss to Yana Alekseevna, when she kept her Rio hopes alive with the box-off victory.
And she looked back to her typical and aggressive best in Kazakhstan on Saturday as she proved a class above Alexisson in the last 32 of the Worlds.
A win in the last 16 and in the quarter-finals will guarantee Taylor a place in the Olympics and, judging by her dominance this weekend, she's well on track to defend her Olympic title.
