There was high drama in Cardiff at the weigh-ins for Katie Taylor's world title fight.
Katie Taylor was scheduled to take on WBA lightweight champion Anahi Sanchez for the WBA lightweight title on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs Carlos Takam in the Welsh capital on Saturday night.
In her seventh professional bout, Taylor was set to fight for her first world title in the pro ranks, but there were fears that she may have to wait after her opponent missed weight.
Taylor did her job and came in at 9st 8lbs, but Sanchez tipped the scales one pound over the limit at 9st 10lbs. She had two hours to cut the extra pound in order to keep her title. However, at her second attempt, she missed weight again.

After missing weight at the second time of asking, Sanchez has been forced to forfeit the championship. Fortunately, though the fight will still go ahead.
The even better news is that Taylor will still be able to win the vacant title by beating the Argentine as a statement from Matchroom promotions confirmed.
"Anahi Sanchez failed to make the weight when she returned to the scales."
"The two teams have agreed that the fight will go ahead, the WBA World Lightweight title is now vacant and only Katie can win the belt tomorrow night."
