“I think it’s a no-brainer, imagine that on a card” – Jason Quigley talks potential Croke Park card

"I enjoy the craic, I have a bit of fun, if someone talks shit to me, I'll sort them out."

Jason Quigley has no problems with his confidence. The outspoken Donegal man is who he is and he won't change that for anybody. His self-belief is unwavering, and his 13-0 record in professional boxing backs that up. Recently, he decided to move from his Los Angelas base to Sheffield, because he felt the atmosphere was a little bit too relaxed for him in America. This man means business, and he's determined to make more progress in the middleweight division, before he earns a massive title fight for himself. That fight will take place in Ireland.

"Fans, and people back at home now are craving for me to come back for a fight here. Twitter goes mad whenever I mention something about Ireland, with everyone like, 'please come back and fight here,' this that and whatever," he said on SportsJOE Live on Wednesday. "I've talked to Oscar (De La Hoya) I've talked to Golden Boy Promotions, I've talked to my management team, and I have stated to them from day one that when I come back home to fight in Ireland, I want it to be a big, big fight. I want it to be a world title eliminator, a world title fight or a world title defence. "I want to bring the big time boxing back to Ireland. The likes of the days Steve Collins fought Chris Eubank in Cork, the nights Bernard Dunne fought in the O2 or the 3 arena.

"I'm ranked number 10 in the world now with the WBA, so I could get the call up tomorrow to fight for a world title. Obviously with the journey I'm on, I know I'm on that way, I know where I'm going, and I want four or five more fights with big names, big experienced fighters that have been there done, I want to take them names out of there. I want to bring the first ever Golden Boy Promotions fight to Ireland. "I want to come with a show, a big, big one. I'm in the middleweight decision, that's where the excitement's at, it's where the money's at and it's where the competition is at.  "Whoever the champion is when my time comes, God help them," said the 26-year-old.

Boxing is on a high in Ireland. Quigley feels a blockbuster card should be organised for with all of these fighters involved.

"This is what everyone's talking about, I think it's a no-brainer. You look at the likes of Carl Frampton, Katie Taylor, Paddy Barnes, Michael Conlan, myself. Imagine that on a card, Croke Park wouldn't be big enough. It's endless, you've Andy Lee, and Spike O'Sullivan - any of those fighters could sell out a show themselves.

Just imagine that.
