Gary 'Spike' O'Sullivan moved one step closer to a world title shot on Saturday night after he won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Middleweight Title with a dominant victory over Antoine Douglas in Laval, Quebec, Canada.
O'Sullivan stopped the American in the seventh round with a devastating flurry of punches that sent Douglas crashing to the canvas and towards the second defeat of his career.

Before the fight, O'Sullivan said that he has never felt more powerful and that he would be targeting a fight with Gennady Golovkin, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders, who retained his WBO middleweight title with a unanimos decision victory over David Lemieux on the same card as O'Sullivan.
Spike is good friends with Saunders but has said that he would have no problem putting aside their friendship if it meant that he could challenge for a world title.
Elsewhere O'Sullivan's teammate Niall Kennedy finished a fine year with a second round stoppage of Danny Calhoun at the Plainville Park Casino in Plainville, Connecticut.
It was Kennedy's third victory of the year as he extended his record to 10-0 with six knockouts.
