Throughout Conor McGregor's entire career, there has only been one man who was able to compete with him in the trash talk front.
It just so happens that the same man happened to hand Conor McGregor his first loss inside the UFC 's Octagon.
We are, of course, referring to Nate Diaz. The Stockton native punched McGregor's head into a rear-naked choke at UFC 196, then he took the Dubliner to the brink in the do-over, a closely-fought majority decision at UFC 202.
While the two warriors appear to have earned each other's respect through battle, it's impossible to ignore the animosity these two had for each other in the build up to their back-to-back wars. Throwing cans of energy drink at the press conference and McGregor punching Diaz's fist at the obligatory pre-fight staredown spring to mind.
They absolutely despise each other when the situation requires it.

However, we won't know until fight night whether this brand of mental warfare has affected the undefeated pugilist. If Mayweather wanted to score some points at the very last hurdle, what better way than to show up at the T-Mobile Arena with McGregor's arch nemesis.
The Money Team member and friend of Mayweather, Jason Lee, told
TMZ Sports that he's going to try his best to make this happen.
“Listen, I don't know, but I'm from Stockton, California and I was just in London with Floyd when the whole shit went down with Conor and I’m going to make the call to Nate Diaz."
