Aaron Connolly knows exactly where his future lies after career revival

Republic of Ireland striker Aaron Connolly has turned his career around at Hull City and he knows exactly where his future lays. The young forward burst onto the scene as a teenager fro Brighton scoring twice on his Premier League debut, and inking his name immediately as Ireland's next big star. Things went rosey for the goal getter initially, but when he started to struggle for form for both club and country, he was shipped out on loan, even ending up in playing in Serie B in Italy, and getting dropped by Stephen Kenny from the senior squad. Poor form, injuries and bad luck seemed to haunt Connolly until Hull City finally too a chance and signed him to help with their campaign in the Championship. Initially he picked up an injury, and the club wondered if they would ever see the best of him, but he started this season on fire, banging in goals and assists from the off, netting his sixth of the campaign  just last weekend.

Aaron Connolly knows exactly where his future lays after career revival.

Now with his career back on track, the 23-year-old says that Hull City is the only place he wants to be for the foreseeable.

"I don't want to go anywhere else and I think everyone knows that", Connolly told Hull Live. "The chairman (Acun Ilicali) knows it, Tan (vice-chairman Tan Kesler) knows it, and the gaffer. I think we're all kind of working together on that.

"So, yeah, I don't want to play my football anywhere else, and hopefully, you can see on the pitch how much I enjoy it here. I don't know why I would want to go elsewhere," Connolly told Hull Live.

"Hopefully, that'll get sorted. That's something that's kind of out of my hands at the minute. I'm just focusing on playing and I think I've got that relationship with the gaffer and obviously everyone at the club that hopefully we can come to some type of agreement soon."

Hull manager Liam Rosenior can take a lot of credit for reviving his career, as he can clearly get the best out of him having worked with him before with Brighton's under 23 team. "He gets me. I played my best football under the gaffer, both at academy level when I was playing with him and also now, so yeah, he's put a lot of trust in me. Like I said with the contract, I'd never, ever want to look elsewhere to play for any other club." Related links:
