Speaking to Ziggo Sport, the former Manchester United boss said: "I still cannot say that I'm retired.
"I still get a lot of offers, although that sounds annoying to some people. But it's true.
"I now have an offer I can't refuse, I think."But if I don't have a new club in July or August, you can assume that I'm retired." The statement about having an offer he couldn't refuse has prompted mass panic among Arsenal fans as they were quickly reminded what Van Gaal had said in December about jobs that he'd consider accepting.
The Dutchman stated five months ago that he would only be tempted back into management if one of the big clubs in the Premier League came calling as he wanted to punish United for the way that they sacked him in 2016.
"I most likely won’t coach any club again," Van Gaal told De Telegraaf before Christmas.
"But if I do, it has to be a large English club, because I have unfinished business with Manchester United."While it's been suggested that Everton are more likely to bring Van Gaal in, there's no denying that Arsenal are a big side with a guaranteed vacancy come the summer and supporters are freaking out about potentially seeing the 66-year-old in their dugout. https://twitter.com/CarolRadull/status/989473030664544256 https://twitter.com/Sam_B3llingham/status/989477305725739010 https://twitter.com/Pardeep94/status/989476734121766913 https://twitter.com/SwedishJoker92/status/989473019012710401 https://twitter.com/realnyangah/status/989470194002259969 https://twitter.com/squashswift13/status/989465729740222465 https://twitter.com/the_real_ivo/status/989461339163815936 https://twitter.com/baklouti_atef/status/989451786414149632
