This is fantastic news.
Celtic have beaten competition such as Manchester United and Manchester City to sign Irish youngster Barry Coffey, according to
the Scottish Daily Record.
The 16-year-old from Tipperary impressed playing for Chelsea in a youth tournament in Rotterdam last year and had been offered trials by both Manchester clubs.
However, Coffey opted to put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Celtic, joining up with the the Glasgow club's Development squad for the upcoming season.
The Republic of Ireland schoolboy international comes from quite the sporting family. His brother Andrew is in the Tipperary U21 hurling panel and his sister Maeve plays underage camogie for the Premier county.
His club Nenagh Eire Og tweeted out their congratulations after the deal had been confirmed.
