Dele's miserable time in Turkey continues
Dele Alli's miserable time in Turkey has continued after Beşiktaş boss, Şenol Güneş, said that he 'doesn't deserve to play' for the club.
Alli joined in the summer on a season-long loan after failing to nail down a starting spot at Everton, just six months after leaving Tottenham Hotspur due to a lack of game time.
Despite mass hysteria when his arrival was confirmed, the 26-year-old has failed to hit the heights and has only made 10 appearances, scoring two goals in that time.
Güneş has been heavily critical of the midfielder during his time in Istanbul. Back in October, he said that he had performed
'below expectations' while other reports have suggested that the club are considering
terminating his loan.
"I couldn't affect the players [yet], now I can easily get through to them, but we haven't got through to Dele Alli yet," he explained.
"Let's not discuss Dele Alli as a player, but he is below expectations in terms of efficiency."
His torrid time continued on Wednesday when the England international wasn't named in the squad for the Turkish Cup tie against Ankaragücü.
Beşiktaş lost the game on penalties but Güneş decided to aim his frustrations at the Everton loanee after the game once more.
"Dele Alli has had a good career. But he doesn't deserve to play at the moment," he said, bluntly.
The Turkish side have a reported £6m buy-out option, which can be activated in the summer, but it seems very unlikely that it will be activated.
