'We have more identity as a team'
Bruno Fernandes talks pre-match as Manchester United kick-off their last-16 Champions League first-leg tie against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium this evening at 8:00 pm.
The Reds come into this highly anticipated encounter on an improved run of form. They have won two Premier League matches on the bounce. Putting four goals past Leeds United on the weekend at Elland Road provides much-needed momentum for Man United.
The Portuguese international looks ahead to tonight's fixtures including highlighting Rangnick's impact as interim manager.

The attacking-midfielder
suggests there's a media frenzy at Man United right now with every detail being over analysed.
“I was doing an interview now and they asked me about Jadon [Sancho] doing my celebration, he said. I saw the goal of H (Harry Maguire) and I’m seeing Paul (Pogba) running behind him, sliding on his knees, happy for him. Everyone. I was slapping his head and saying that ‘finally you score with that big head.'"
Fernandes thinks it's just white noise. “So, I think honestly it’s just people trying to complain and making stories about this club because we know that when someone talks about this club or about some player of this club they go around the world with their voice."
The Reds are united according to Fernandes. “For us, it means nothing. As we stick to the plan and as we stick together, it’s the main thing. Losing together and winning together.”
Ralf Rangnick has put together a seven-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League which has them 4th. “We have to follow what the manager and the staff think is the best way for us and that’s the most important,” Fernandes said.
Fernandes emphasized the manager has the player's support. “Here in this club I never heard someone complain about the tactics and I hope no one does that because it’s not respectful on the coach’s ideas because I think we have been doing so well since he arrived."
