“I don’t think, when we play them at Anfield, he will change the team as much,” Morrison told TalkSport. “I think you will see five or six first-teamers back. Jurgen Klopp knows the Liverpool fans won’t accept (anything less).
“When I was warming up at half-time one of the Liverpool fans shouted out, ‘Oi, Clinton. Tell that Klopp to sort it out. We didn’t come all this way to see this'.
“I know for a fact there were some disgruntled people there who were disappointed in the team he picked.”
Despite not having the familiar names that fans would have been comfortable putting their hopes in, Morrison was pleasantly surprised at the potential of the young team named by Klopp.
“We thought they were there for the taking but they still had a lot of quality,” he said.
“The left-back Brad Smith is a terrific talent. He’s one for the future, and the right-back (Connor Randall) too. I thought they were both very good.
“I still think they had enough quality on the pitch to cause us problems but I just thought we were the better team and we’re slightly disappointed we’re not through.”Explore more on these topics:
