Ten Hag is desperate to implement patterns of play that his side can rely on, while also allowing his players to express themselves in the final third.
During United's pre-season campaign, the 52-year-old has stopped sessions when players have failed to follow his orders.

Jadon! Pass!" to Sancho after the winger held onto the ball for too long.
Despite this, Ten Hag insists that he treats every player the same and that his criticism is intended to keep up 'high standards'.
"I will tell every player what I expect of them. I have high standards because you are here, you are playing for Manchester United, then you must bring every day on the pitch. That is an expectation I have."https://twitter.com/centredevils/status/1549071228941508609 The Red Devils face off against Crystal Palace in a pre-season friendly today (Tuesday, July 19), before clashing with Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano prior to the start of the Premier League season.
