Everton have delivered the ultimate snub to Aiden McGeady

It might be time for him to find a new club.

Aiden McGeady has been out of favour at Everton for quite some time. Since January 2015, the Republic of Ireland winger has featured just three times for the Toffees. In his last appearance, a League Cup tie against Barnsley last August, McGeady was taken-off at half-time and he went on-loan to Sheffield Wednesday in January. Things didn't work out much better for McGeady in the Championship, so much so he was allowed join up with Ireland's Euro 2016 early as Wednesday prepared for the Championship play-off final. The 30-year-old returned to Everton for pre-season training, and a change of manager appears to have done little to improve his standing at Goodison Park. McGeady has been left without a squad number for the upcoming season, having been stripped of his number seven jersey. The winger was also left out of Ronald Koeman's squad that travelled to Germany to continue their pre-season preparations. Gerard Deulofeu has taken McGeady's number seven shirt while Oumar Niasse, the Senegalese striker who signed for the club last January for £13.5m, has also been left without a shirt number.
