Fearful Louis van Gaal admits worry at facing same fate as Jose Mourinho

All Premier League managers this week have probably shifted uncomfortably in their seat.

Naturally when the top dog is taken out of action, it sends a shiver through the rest of the pack. So while Jose Mourinho was packing his bags, most Manchester United fans were wondering  about the future of their own manager who is hoping for a first win in six this weekend against Norwich. Louis van Gaal is seemingly under quite a lot of external pressure from fans about a lack of goals and excitement this season. Today he admitted that there is a fear he could end up on the dole queue like Jose if results don't improve.

"It's this world. I have the full confidence of my board and my players, I feel, and it's like that.

"But we have to get results, we have to win, we know that – the players know it, I know it, and my staff know it. We have to win because when you lose too much it's the end of the world for me also."

LvG admitted he was surprised to see Mourinho sacked but that it is a part of modern football,

"It was a big surprise for me, I didn't expect that. He's a fantastic manager with a record that nobody has in this football world, but it is still possible.

"The main thing is always of course the results and, second, the chemistry between the players and manager and his staff. I cannot judge what was happening in Chelsea, but I was very surprised."
