Speaking about Wenger's crowning achievement to Amazon Prime, Ferguson was uncharacteristically open in the praise which he lavished upon his former foe.
The United manager was in charge when Arsenal suffered defeat in the league after 49 games in October 2004.
"I won thirteen leagues, but I was never near going through a season undefeated", the Scotsman said.
Ferguson went on to add: "The achievement (Invincible season), it stands aside- stands above everything else and it was Arsenal's".

Seeing the former United manager heap praise upon Wenger may come as a surprise to many football fans.
The pair often had a combustible relationship on the sidelines during their multiple shared title races.
However, a softening of sorts has occurred between the managerial duo since their retirements.
The Premier League's most iconic managers have shared numerous dinners and meetings, leading to Ferguson describing his French counterpart as "a great man".
