"We had to get the ladder to get him down. He had no shoes on and had lost his mobile phone and his hat," one member of the emergency services told the Sheffield Star.
According to reports, the fan claimed to have fallen asleep at half-time, and it was clearly a deep sleep as he missed the entire second half and wasn't disturbed by thousands of fans leaving Barnsley's Oakwell ground.
It says a lot about the entertainment on offer in Yorkshire, where a first half effort from Jamie Proctor gave the visitors all three points.
