Lowly junior C hurling and football clubs are trying to instigate drink bans and asking players to sign contracts declaring the demon drink will not cross their lips from January to November... so how can a semi-professional footballer get away with this.
Thankfully Mills has a sense of humour, choosing to laugh off suggestions of fining his gargling player.
“To be honest, it’s all in good jest and anyone who knows Jason knows he is that sort of character.
“I knew when I signed him that I was getting a good player but I also knew I was getting a real character in the dressing-room. He’s a great lad," he told the Northants Telegraph.
“He actually rang me up yesterday (Sunday) asking me my thoughts about it, I think he was a bit concerned!"
