But it seems that Neville has found his goalscoring touch in his retirement years.
The ex-Red Devils captain was not on his usual Sky Sports beat last weekend as he was in Singapore with former teammate Ryan Giggs to celebrate the launch of Cafe Football Singapore.
"United have been a bit up and down," Neville said at the event, via Goal. "They've been inconsistent. They've dropped many points but I think the next couple of months will determine if the season was successful or not. It all depends on whether United can get into the Champions League."
After speaking, Neville enjoyed a kickabout and what a kickabout it was as the former full-back scored an unforgettable goal which he has announced as his best ever.
