Jamie Carragher's gameplan for Michael Carrick's testimonial was very, very clear from the off.

Carragher had to wait some time to get his hands on Gary Neville, though, as the former Manchester United right back spent the first half on the bench, while Carra started.
But then the legendary Liverpool defender got the news he was waiting for.

It didn't take long for Neville to find himself in some promising positions.
Neville managed just seven goals in over 600 appearances for United but his eyes lit up when he saw a cross dropping on his favoured right foot in the box.
Presented with the opportunity to shut Carragher up, Neville unsurprisingly didn't have the volley technique in his arsenal as he dragged the shot wide.
Not just wide.
But out for a throw-in.

Neville's day was about to go from bad to worse as Carragher seized his opportunity.
With Neville out on the touchline and absolutely nowhere to go, Carragher dived in late on his punditry soulmate and took him out.

And while the game was being broadcast on MUTV, some Liverpool fans were clearly watching as they got far too much pleasure out of Neville's misfortunes.
