Good guy Danny Graham donates €3,600 to help fund surgery for player he’s never met

Danny Graham's goalscoring may not be as proficient as it once was but his likability hasn't dropped an iota.

The Sunderland forward showed that he's got a heart of gold after he put up £2,690 (€3,633) to help pay for the surgery of Gateshead midfielder JJ O’Donnell.

Graham and O'Donnell have never met but when the Black Cats striker heard that O'Donnell needed surgery on a foot condition known sesamoiditis, he jumped at the chance to help out.

Graham's donation ensured that O'Donnnell reached the target set out and means that his full treatment can now be covered. We need more footballers like Danny Graham. H/t to TheGuardian
