WATCH: Graeme Souness and Jamie Carragher had a heated debate about Paul Pogba’s performance

Paul Pogba's horror show on Sunday afternoon led to a heated debate in the Sky Sports studio.

The Manchester United midfielder was awful in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Old Trafford. If Marouane Fellaini had played this poorly, Twitter would have exploded with United fans venting their rage towards the Belgian. The United midfielder raised his hand to the ball, clearly striking it, when attempting to beat Dejan Lovren to a header. James Milner scored from the spot and Pogba's day didn't get any better as he struggled to make a positive impact. Following the game, Carragher attempted to play Devil's advocate and defended the player's role in the penalty incident. Carragher said that Pogba's poor marking at set-pieces was down to, in part, Liverpool targeting him and blocking him. The former Liverpool defender said if Jose Mourinho thought Pogba was poor at defending crosses, he wouldn't have delegated him the job of marking Lovren. "It terms of Jose Mourinho choosing Pogba to pick him (Lovren) up, he knows who his best header is," Carragher said.

"He's not stupid."

However, Souness didn't agree and was very critical of Pogba's role at the corners, regardless of Liverpool's attempts to block him. Thierry Henry, no stranger to handball incidents himself, sided with Souness and cited Pogba's failure to look at the ball.
