Harry Arter set for move that keeps him in Premier League

Republic of Ireland midfielder Harry Arter was the subject of deadline day interest, with both Watford and Cardiff both reportedly interested in the player.

Arter played just 13 times for Bournemouth last season, after playing 35 games in the previous campaign, and his chances of increasing his playing time this season took a noticeable hit after the Cherries announced the signing of Colombian international Jefferson Lerma on Wednesday. https://twitter.com/pjcadden/status/1027465416665440256 That was the latest this morning but it soon transpired that Cardiff would be the likely destination once personal terms could be agreed and a medical passed. https://twitter.com/MichelleOwen7/status/1027573596028366848 Arter said at the end of last season that it was up to his agents and the club to figure out what's best for him but that he holds no animosity towards Bournemouth.

“I know in my heart that I can go back to Bournemouth and get back in the team there,” Arter told reporters. “Agents and people at the club who run it, it’s up to them to work out what’s best for the club and what’s the best for me. The level of respect me and the manager have, if an opportunity comes up that is good for Bournemouth and is good for me, I’ll let my agent and the club discuss it. “There is no sort of animosity between me and the club. With all that we’ve achieved it would be sad if there was. That’s why that chat (with Howe) at the end of the season was probably crucial really because it established where we were at in our relationship as a manager and player. He’s someone I’ll always be grateful to. If I am to play again for Bournemouth, I’ll always give my all for him and the club.”

The Ireland midfielder is on the move but set to stay in the top flight.
