Liverpool's start to the season has went from bad to disastrous after just three games following their defeat to Manchester United. After two consecutive draws against Fulham and then Crystal Palace, Liverpool fans hoped that it would be a case of finding their feet, and knocking a United side while they were already down. With two defeats already under their belt, a visit to Old Trafford seemed to be the perfect place to get a big win and the season up and running. However, it was United's season that was sparked into life, as they played on the front foot from the very beginning and were overall the better team for 90 minutes. One major concern for Jurgen Klopp will be the defensive errors that seem to keep occurring for The Reds, and last night on Monday Night Football, Jamie Carragher tore into them. "Liverpool were absolutely shocking defensively. They were not at the races at all," Carragher said

"Every time United went forward in that first half they looked like they were going to score. It was embarrassing. Liverpool were all over the place. "United were outstanding, but Liverpool weren't ready for a derby game. They didn't look ready for the game and that will worry Jurgen Klopp right now.

"Manchester United got a lot of criticism for their defending at Brentford and Liverpool should be getting exactly the same treatment after this." Virgil van Dijk has taken a lot of the heat for Jaden Sancho's opener, and it wasn't just fans on social media who were critical of the Dutchman. Midfielder James Milner was visibly annoyed at his central defender, who is usually so reliable a the back, and the pair can be seen having a heated discussion about what went wrong.  With Ibrahima Konate still out injured, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are the two who will be partner their vice-captain, but everyone in that back four need to start using their game, or it is going to be a very long season for the Anfield faithful.
