One of the best things about James McClean is that he is true to himself. He has principles, he has beliefs and he doesn't bend them or deny them at the risk of upsetting someone else.
He's an Irish man. A proud Derry nationalist. He likes Celtic. He definitely doesn't like Rangers.
Some of his decisions cause controversy - people would rather he didn't be who he was. But James McClean knows who he is and he probably sleeps better at night than a lot of us.

Saturday wasn't a great day for the winger, personally.
He sat on the bench for the duration of the Bournemouth game and watched his West Brom team mates go down 1-0. He couldn't even lend a hand as Tony Pulis opted for two new signings, Matt Phillips and Nacer Chadli, on the flanks instead.
But it wasn't all doom and gloom for the Irish hero. After all, having seen what happened earlier in the day up in Glasgow, he couldn't help but form a little wry smile.
