It was a lovely, lovely effort. However, the general consensus is that it was undeserving of the top goal award in the world. Especially given that it was the year in which Gareth Bale scored that astounding bicycle kick in the Champions League final.
Deep down, everyone knows the Welshman deserved the prestigious accolade. Bale knows it, Fifa know it, Salah knows it.
Salah's teammate Milner was willing to admit it. The England international had a zinger ready after the announcement was made.
