His goal-scoring in the Premier League means he's on course to overtake the record Jamie Vardy set last on the way to firing Leicester to the title last season. Vardy scored in 11 straight top flight matches in the last campaign, overtaking the previous record set by former Manchester United striker, Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Goals in the next nine league matches for Mark Hughes' side will be enough to take the record away from the England international, and would almost certainly have Hollywood scriptwriters sniffing around with a view to turning Allen's feat into a big screen hit.
The Welshman, who inspired former Juventus and AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo's nickname of 'The Italian Joe Allen', moved to Stoke from Liverpool in the summer.
