Unbelievable.
John Terry was hoping for the ultimate fairytale finish in front of his own fans at Stamford Bridge.
It was confirmed a few months ago that the Chelsea club captain and iconic centre-half would be leaving the club this summer, after almost two decades of service.
The immensely unpopular player among rival fans, but adored by the Chelsea faithful, was expected to end his career with a glorious swansong on the last day of the season against Leicester City.
Instead, his career has come to a premature end after he picked up a second yellow card in today's 3-2 loss to Sunderland.
Normally that would mean just a one-game ban, but because he was already sent off this season, having seen red against West Brom way back in August, he will now miss the final two games of 2016.
