It wasn't long ago that N'Golo Kante was synonymous with midfield solidity.
Not many opinions in football are universal, but practically everyone was in agreement that Kante was fundamental to Leicester City's Premier League title, and that the diminutive Parisian was a brilliant signing for Chelsea Football Club.
He was seen as the midfield plug - a one-man defensive wall - that the Foxes would dearly miss and the Blues would use as a platform for their own title push this season. A disappointing Euro 2016 aside, he was renowned as pretty much peerless.

Alas, in this era of unprecedented knee-jerkery, 90 minutes plus injury time is a long time in football. Following Chelsea's 3-0 capitulation at the hands of local rivals and fellow Premier League contenders Arsenal, Kante is facing serious flack.
As premature as it sounds, the midfielder is suddenly being branded a 'one seasoned wonder' and a 'fraud' by those who are singling him out as the prime reason why the Gunners found so much joy in slicing through the Chelsea midfield.
