He's terrified of animals, but that won't stop Brendan Rodgers from considering Kolo Toure as Liverpool's next vice-captain.
With Jordan Henderson now officially the bearer of the armband, there are plenty of candidates for his deputy, and boss Rodgers this morning said he had not yet decided on a new vice-captain.
There are several contenders for the role, including veteran defender Martin Skrtel and midfielders Lucas and James Milner, but Rodgers today revealed Toure, who some were surprised to see offered a new contract this summer, is also among them, despite being unlikely to feature too often for the Reds this season.

Toure joined Rodgers at the press conference in Adelaide ahead of their preseason tour match against Adelaide United tomorrow, and was happy to explain his scampering away from a koala during their stop in Brisbane.
While his team-mates embraced the furry marsupial, Toure wanted no part of it, and today explained his enduring aversion to animals.
