If any football club ought to be asking their players to avoid rapping at all costs, it's Liverpool. Ever since that memorable couplet "Liverpool FC is hard as hell/United, Tottenham, Arsenal", the Reds have been the only club in the country synonymous with the hip-hop and football. You'd have thought they might have taken the hint when discovering that John Barnes was a better rapper at international than at club level. What? 'World in Motion' was a tune. But if Istanbul taught us anything it's that Liverpool never give up, and they're committed to restoring rap's reputation in footballing circles. They're marking the pre-season tour to the West Coast of the United States by getting a number of first-teamers involved, even if some of there hearts don't seem to be in it. We're treated to Joe Allen's 'The Real Slim Shady', Dejan Lovren's (sorry, 'DJ Lov-Ren's') 'Nuthin' But a G Thang', and Christian Benteke's enthusiastic rendition of California Love.
