If they do qualify for the Thursday night football extravaganza, it may mean that some of their early 'home' games could be played away from Anfield, especially if they are pitched in at the third qualifying round which takes place in late July and early August.
The Guardian newspaper understands Liverpool have asked their first two Premier league games of next season be away from Merseyside, while if they do face any European games in July, the home leg may be played at Wigan or Bolton's home ground, while Ewood Park, the home of Blackburn Rovers, is also an option.
There is, however, no chance that Liverpool will be playing any home games at Goodison Park, just a short distance away if they do manage to finish in seventh spot, which will see them participate in the Europa League.
