It's understood that former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, who left his post at the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer after delivering three consecutive Champions League titles, would be the preferred successor to Mourinho.
And apparently, United have already held preliminary talks with the French legend.
According to beINSports, Zidane has been sounded out by the Red Devils with a move to offer him a contract.
