That hasn't exactly gone according to plan as he hasn't featured for Wolves since November and has failed to put himself in the plans of manager Paul Lambert.
In spite of that, Borthwick-Jackson will return to his loan club after this midweek game for United's reserves and is expected to be available for selection for Wolves' Championship clash against Birmingham on Friday.
Loan regulations state that players can be recalled by their parent club during a loan spell as long as the loan club agrees and that they don't feature for the first team.
Expect Borthwick-Jackson to play some part for in United's reserves' match this week but, as for whether or not he will be selected by Lambert for the Birmingham game on Friday, that seems altogether less likely.
