The cause of the gruesome gash on the United defender's hairline was more conventional, challenging with David Silva for the ball, rather than a melee in the away dressing room.
The Argentine defender seems to have come off much worse, showing off a nasty cut which forced him off at half-time.

United boss Jose Mourinho said he was unsure over whether Rojo would recover in time for the clash with Bournemouth tonight.
"He's a brave guy. I don't know, let's see if he can be ready for the match. but if he's not ready, we have other alternatives to play."
Rojo has earned himself a reputation as a courageous defender and, with wounds like this, we can see why.
