The absolute balls on Marouane Fellaini to hit out at United over contract talks

Marouane Fellaini is happy with his current position in terms of negotiations with Manchester United.

The midfielder insists he now holds all the cards after United failed to nail him down to a new contract ahead of the summer. Fellaini will be able to leave for free at the end of the season, having failed to agree to a new deal at Old Trafford, but he proved just how valuable he can be last Sunday, when he headed home a late winner against Arsenal. After the game, manager Jose Mourinho revealed his hand a little by admitting that he hoped the Belgium international will stay on beyond the summer. But Fellaini has suggested that the club made a mistake by delaying the process of getting a new deal signed.

"The entire staff is doing everything I can to stay. Now I am in a strong position, especially since Mourinho has stated that he wants to keep me," Fellaini told Sport Magazine. "Last year I went to the coach and I said that I wanted a new contract. I then had a second meeting, but I will not ask it ten times. "Afterwards I became important for the team... And a good player costs at least 50 million euros. The club knows that they went wrong there."

Fellaini has been linked with clubs as surprising as Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain while there has also been reported interest from the Chinese Super League.

"I would not have a problem with life in China. I love to discover other places and other cultures. And I will not go there alone. If I go, it's with the family," Fellaini said. "I am now thirty years old, end of contract and negotiating with Manchester United. There are several clubs that show interest. I'm waiting for what's going to happen."
