Ritchie's frustration saw him argue with both Bruce and first team coach Steve Agnew after reportedly refusing to go to the manager's office on Tuesday morning.
After details of the exchange were leaked to a national newspaper, Ritchie is now said to have apologised to Bruce in front of the rest of his teammates, with the matter now considered closed by all involved.
Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, full-back Jamal Lewis and striker Joelinton were also criticised by Bruce for their own errors during the game at St James' Park.
Newcastle currently sit 17th in the Premier League table, three points above Fulham in the relegation zone. Their next game sees them take on 19th-place West Brom
