Europe's top four leagues will be guaranteed four places each in the group stages of the Champions League from 2018.
England, Germany, Spain and Italy are currently the top ranked ranked leagues in Europe.
Under the current system, England, Germany and Spain receive three places each in the group stages, and the fourth place team in each respective division enters the Champions League at the play-off round.

Italy have two teams enter in the group stages, and their third placed team goes into the play-off round.
However, under the new rules, the top four from the four divisions will automatically enter the group stages of the competition.
It's difficult not to see the changes as a victory for elite of European football.
