Sergio Agüero climbs one place, from 12th to 11th, with a score of 89, and he edges out Arsenal's Mesut Özil and Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Courtois has jumped 19 places compared to FIFA 16, while Özil climbs from 18th to 12th.
Three players currently in the Premier League were among Fifa 16's 10 highest rated players, but two of those three have slipped down the rankings this time around.
David Silva has fallen from 10th to 44th while Eden Hazard - sixth last year - is now at number 30, below Petr Čech and cover star Marco Reus.
The third member of that trio? None other than Manchester United signing Zlatan Ibrahimović. We'll soon find out if he is able to improve on last year's seventh-place finish.
