"You look at Wayne Rooney. You're looking for goals. Wayne Rooney is somebody who's done that all his life... all his career," Ferdinand said on BT Sport.
"These are big games coming up. Wayne Rooney plays and scores in big games throughout his career. I think he played two games in December!
"I think someone like Wayne Rooney has got the ability, the nous, the know-how how to get goals. He knows how to do it, he's experienced."
