More people probably would have jumped on Robbie Keane's comments on Goals on Sunday had they not been distracted by what he was wearing.
Wayne Rooney became Manchester United's top goal scorer of all time on Saturday as he bagged his side's only goal in the 1-1 Premier League draw against Stoke City. Since setting the record, silly season for ridiculous comments about the English striker has officially opened.
Alan Shearer got the ball rolling on Match of the Day when he claimed that Rooney had so much passion for the beautiful game that he would be willing to play for as little as £50-a-week. What the Newcastle legend failed to remember was that Rooney famously handed in a transfer request at Old Trafford in order t improve the terms of his contract. Luckily for Shearer, fans were
more than willing to remind him of what had slipped his mind.
Then on Goals on Sunday, Republic of Ireland legend Robbie Keane came out with a doozy of a quote about United's record goalscorer.

Trawling through Twitter won't result in much reaction to Keane's outlandish claim and there's a very good reason for that - he looked like a priest.
That is to say, Keano was dressed very like a priest on the TV appearance, wearing a black shirt over a what appeared to be a white vest that really resembled a priest's collar.
If it was done intentionally, it was an excellent distraction technique by the Dubliner, who's comment about Rooney couldn't be heard over the giggles from people who enjoyed seeing him dressed as if he was getting ready for a Father Ted fan club meeting.
