Firmino will wear the No. 9 next season and, as a gesture of goodwill to supporters who had already purchased the new Liverpool jersey and got Firmino's name on the back with No. 11, he will personally sign the shirts sent into the club by fans and return them.
The decision coincides with the signing of Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, who joins the Reds from Roma for a fee believed to be in the region of £37 million.
The first images of Salah in a Liverpool jersey emerged on Thursday evening and they confirmed that he will take the No. 11 shirt that has been vacated by Firmino.Explore more on these topics:
