OK, everyone take a breath.
That was a pretty crazy morning.
It began with rumours that Alvaro Morata's transfer to Manchester United would be completed in a matter of hours but, all of a sudden, reports emerged that a deal had been agreed to bring Everton's Romelu Lukaku to Old Trafford for a fee of £75 million.
The Beeb reported it.

The Guardian reported it.

Our Uk brethren (kind of) reported it.

Well apparently, horses need to be held because there is seemingly a long way to go yet before we can start praising Paul Pogba's persuasive abilities and confirm that Lukaku is indeed a United player.
Well-connected
Mirror journalist, Darren Lewis, has claimed that Chelsea remain in the race for the Belgian powerhouse, contrary to initial reports that they'd been beaten to the punch.

Similarly, and perhaps more credibly, Jim White has also insisted that the reports were premature.
White is closely connected with Everton part-owner, Farhad Moshiri, and he took to the talkSPORT airwaves to tell supporters that no deal has been reached between the Red Devils and Lukaku and that reports of the £75 million fee are "incorrect."

It remains altogether possible that Lukaku will end up a United player before the end of this transfer window but that's not quite the case just yet.
