Ross Barkley hasn't quite had the follow up season he would have wished for this year, after making a sensational impact last term under Roberto Martinez. However he might find the going at easier at Chelsea or Manchester City with both clubs linked to the Everton man this morning.
According to the Daily Star Sunday the clubs are set to have a bidding war over the 21-year-old, with his club claiming he's worth €60million.
The deal would not go down well with the blue half of Merseyside, but with the club looking to bring in a number of players this summer, Martinez may find the offer too good to turn down.
The Sunday Mirror also has a follow up to that story that may tie in with speculation linking the youngster to the Ethiad. According to their sources James Milner will be allowed leave City to join Liverpool if they get their hands on Barkley.
It's reported that Brendan Rodgers feels Milner can be a short term solution to replace Steven Gerrard in his squad for next season. With his contract running out he would be the cheapest option available to Rodgers who's funds could be cut if the club fail to make the Champions League.
The revolving door at Newcastle could do with some oil if reports this morning are to be believed at the number of players entering and exiting the club.
According to the Sunday Mirror the club are looking to spend almost €90million on new players and Fabricio Coloccini, Cheick Tiote and Tim Krul can all pack their bags.
It's understood owner Mike Ashely is looking to cash in on his high-profile players. He's also believed to be close to agreeing a deal with Derby's Steven McClaren on taking over as new manager from John Carver.
