Messi and Ronaldo have shared the award between them every year since 2008, and the Argentine is the bookmakers' favourite to deny his rival three in a row, after Ronaldo claimed the award in 2013 and last year.
The Ballon d'Or winner will be announced at the annual ceremony in Zurich in January.
