Toni Kroos is one of the best midfielders in the world.
Following his departure from Bayern Munich in 2014, the German international has become a firm favourite and starting fixture at Real Madrid. The Bernabeu fans aren't exactly the easiest to please in European football, but Kroos has more than proved himself in the famous white shirt.
Of course the leading clubs in the Premier League and elsewhere would love to have him in their team, and his name is constantly bandied about the gossip columns and supporters' preferred buys lists. Who wouldn't want a goalscoring playmaker able to control the tempo of any game?
But following a ill-judged Twitter Q&A over the weekend, the player may have put many many fans off with a shocking revelation. It turns out that the 27-year-old has the most offensively vanilla taste in music it is possible to have. If it were a car it would be a Ford Focus; and the nearest television show equivalent is probably Heartbeat.
When asked who is favourite singer is, the Kroosmeister answered brazenly with the unholy quartet of: Robbie Williams, Olly Murs, James Blunt and Ed Sheeran. Essentially the 2016 version of saying Simply Red, Chris de Burgh, Phil Collins and Cliff Richard in the 80s/90s.
