Tottenham give Marine players fresh shirts after Covid protocols prevent shirts swaps

Their FA Cup adventure may have come to an end on Sunday, but the players of Marine were at least able to take away a special memento of their game against Tottenham. The Northern Premier League Division One North West side were beaten 5-0 at home by Jose Mourinho's side, and Covid-19 protocol meant that players were not permitted to swap shirts with their Premier League opponents after the full-time whistle. Realising this, Spurs came to Rossett Park prepared ahead of the third-round FA Cup tie. After the game, Jose Mourinho's side presented Marine's players with fresh replica shirts so that their opponents all had a more tangible souvenir of their unforgettable cup run. Hours after full-time, two of Neil Young's team - Mike Howard and Josh Hmami - showed off the shirts on their Twitter accounts.

'Wow, what an experience that was making it to the third round of the FA Cup and having the chance to play against world-class internationals,' Howard said. 'It’s been a journey I’ll never forget! Nice little Harry Kane shirt for the collection.'
