Transfers: Manchester United trying to organise secret deal to dump striker

Memphis Depay must be getting very lonely at Old Trafford these days considering he's Manchester United's only summer signing so far. The Dutch winger was expected to be the first of several deals lined up by the club but so far none have materialised. And now it appears that instead of new team-mates coming in, the Dutchman is about to wave goodbye to an international colleague. According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United have been looking to sell Robin van Persie since January but are still stuck with the player. The claims are made by ex-Holland striker and troublemaker Pierre van Hooijdonk, who claims the club have been hawking the striker to clubs since the turn of the year as they look to start a summer clear-out. The ex-Celtic man believes the club are looking to force out the player, and have made contact with various sides behind RvP's back to seal a move. The Sun are also reporting that the Dutchman is being lined up for a move to Turkey, and that Besiktas are the club most likely to sign the former Arsenal man. Another man who's set to for the exit door, and whom you may have forgotten is still drawing a wage from the Glazers, is Nani. The winger spent last season on loan at Sporting Lisbon, and it appears that despite his loan spell, he may be joining Van Persie in Turkey according to the Daily Star. The player is valued by his suitors at around €7million, but Old Trafford chiefs are looking to secure closer to €10million for his services. €10million. Seriously. The paper reports that the club have rejected a bid already for the player from Fenerbahce, and feel that the winger is worth much more than their valuation of his, ahem, talents. Across town and Manchester City look certain to land an international midfielder this summer, but whether he will be Belgian or French remains to be seen. According to the Daily Mail, a deal for Wolfsburg's Kevin De Bruyne will move closer to completion next week when agents of both sides meet, but the club are falling behind in their pursuit of Paul Pogba. Despite Barcelona being under a transfer ban until next year, it's understood the Champions League winners are edging closer to tie up a deal for the Juventus man for a fee in the €70-80million range.
