West Ham’s old stadium has been blown up for a Hollywood action movie

It may have passed you by, but West Ham don't play their football at Upton Park/The Boleyn Ground anymore.

Despite hardly any mention of it in the media, the Hammers packed up and left their home of 112 years at the end of last season, settling just down the road at the imaginatively named London Stadium (it's a stadium in London). The old stadium has been sold off to a developer, but before the bulldozers move in, it was decided that the best way to bid farewell to over a century of footballing memories was to blow it to smithereens with a series of explosions... According to a report in the Daily Star, filming for a new action movie, Final Score, appears to be under way at the ground. It was reported earlier in the year that the film - which sees a group of heavily armed criminals seizing the ground - would use the stadium before its demolition. West Ham haven't exactly made the best of starts to life at their new ground, losing two of their three Premier League fixtures as well as their Europa League qualifier against Astra Giurgiu. With reports of crowd violence also overshadowing the first matches at the London Stadium, it's no surprise to hear some West Ham fans pining for a move back to Upton Park.
