So there you have it - David De Gea was shit all along.
Sure, he might have pulled off some blinding saves for Manchester United these last three years, and been a dodgy fax machine away from being one of the most expensive goalkeeper sever to grace this planet, but as we saw in the match against Croatia, ultimately, he's an absolute fraud (according to many of those that watched it, at least).
Having finally been trusted to replace Iker Casillas between the sticks for his national side, he'd been a spectator in his first couple of matches at Euro 2016.
Croatia was expected to be more of a test for the United stopper and he was nearly left red-faced in the first half when Ivan Rakitic somehow
didn't score with a chip after De Gea had been caught in possession.
In the end, it was the other Ivan - Perisic - that left him looking a bit of a mug. His late deflected shot beat him at his near post and was the evidence that Twitter's many goalkeeping experts needed to prove that he was crap.

We doubt this will be enough to see Jose Mourinho put him up for sale, but you wouldn't want to back against Vincente Del Bosque opting to return Iker Casillas to a starting berth for their last 16 match.
Poor Dave, just imagine being the wrong side of this man...
